L'essentiel à retenir avant le quiz.

Will : décision, prédiction, promesse

On utilise will quand on décide sur le moment, quand on prédit par opinion, ou quand on fait une promesse.

PIÈGEAprès will, jamais de to et jamais de s : on dit she will go, jamais she will to go ni she wills go.

Be going to : intention et prédiction par indice

On utilise be going to quand le plan était déjà décidé avant de parler, ou quand un indice visible annonce quelque chose.

Construction : sujet + am / is / are + going to + base verbale.

Le critère de choix

La question clé : est-ce que tu décides maintenant, ou c'était déjà prévu ?

2C'était déjà prévu ou il y a un indice visible → be going to

EXEMPLEI will help (décision à l'instant) vs I am going to help (décision prise avant de parler)

Formes contractées

À l'oral et dans les messages, on contracte will et le verbe be.

Poser une question

Les deux formes ont leur propre tournure interrogative.

Will + sujet + base verbale ?·Ex. Will you come? → réponse courte : *Yes, I will* / *No, I won't*

Am / Is / Are + sujet + going to + base verbale ?·Ex. Are you going to study? → be est placé en premier

RÈGLEAvec will : inverse will et le sujet. Avec be going to : inverse be et le sujet. On ne dit jamais Will you going to… ni Do you going to….

Will ou be going to : prédictions

Les deux formes peuvent exprimer une prédiction, mais la raison est différente.

Will (opinion)Be going to (indice visible)

`I think our team will win.`Our team is winning 4-0, they are going to win.

💡will = ce que tu crois ou imagines, sans preuve sous les yeux

💡be going to = tu vois quelque chose maintenant qui te le dit

💡Avec *I think*, *maybe*, *I'm sure* → pense à will

💡Avec *Look !* ou un signe visible → pense à be going to
