Nommer un métier
On utilise a / an au singulier, jamais d'article au pluriel.
PIÈGESingulier : *She is a doctor.* / *He is an engineer.* Pluriel : *They are teachers.* (pas de 'the' pour parler du métier)
💡Suffixe -er / -or à partir d'un verbe : *teach → teacher*, *act → actor*
💡Suffixe -ist : *a scientist*, *a dentist*

Compétences et qualités
can + verbe pour ce qu'on sait faire ; to be good at + V-ing pour ce en quoi on excelle.

*creative, patient, hard-working, organised*adjectifs de qualité utiles
RÈGLEAprès at, le verbe prend toujours -ing : *good at drawing*, jamais *good at draw*.

POURQUOIto study pour une matière (*I study maths*), to learn pour une compétence (*I learn to drive*).

Exprimer ses projets : want to / plan to / hope to
Ces trois verbes se construisent tous avec to + base verbale (infinitif complet).

PIÈGEJamais de V-ing après ces verbes : *I want to be* (et non 'I want being'). Négatif : *He doesn't want to work in an office.*

Variante plus polie de *want to*.
EXEMPLE*I would like to be a nurse.* Même construction : would like to + base verbale.

Futur : going to vs will
Deux formes, deux sens bien distincts.
FormeQuand l'utiliser
**be going to** + base verbaleprojet déjà décidé : *I'm going to study science next year.*
**will** + base verbaleprédiction ou décision spontanée : *I think I will enjoy that job.*
RÈGLE D'OR*She's going to apply* (c'est décidé) ≠ *Maybe she will like it* (prédiction).
